Dr. Howard Berman grew up in Brooklyn, NY. He attended Brooklyn Technical High School and Brooklyn College where he was a Deans list student. In June 1974 he graduated from Tufts Dental School, Cum Laude and OKU, dental Phi Beta Kappa. In 1975 he completed a one year general practice residency. There Dr. Berman rotated in general anesthesia and taught a course in sedation and pain control.
In 1976-77, Dr. Berman served as chief of dentistry at metropolitan Jewish Geriatric Hospital in Brooklyn, where he treated geriatric patients. In 1977-78, Dr. Berman was head of dentistry at Martha Michelson Health Center in Plainfield, Vermont where he learned about rural care. Returning to NY, Dr. Berman was hired as a dental consultant to S.H.A.M.P. (Settlement Health and Medical Practice), where he set up a preventative hygiene center for East Harlem. Dr. Berman was also a professor of periodontics at NY technical college and worked part time as an attending in restorative dentistry at Montefiore Hospital.
In 1979, Dr. Berman established his own practice at 30 Central Park South where he has maintained a group practice for over 40 years. The practice consists of four general dentists, two hygienists, a periodontist, an endodontist and an oral surgeon. The practice is skilled in restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, implant dentistry as well as for children above 12 years of age and senior citizens.
Dr. Berman prides himself and his practice in being extremely conservative in nature. We do all services that are necessary, we do not look to do services that are optional.
